Activate was founded in 2004 by an enthusiastic group of people who wanted to make Fishponds and the surrounding area, a better place for both residents and visitors. Over the years the group have organised improvements to Fishponds Park (opposite Sainsbury's) as well as carrying out work at

Snuff Mills. 

We are however, probably best known as the organisers of events including:

Our logo now features the famous 'Fish on it's nose' sculpture by Doug Cocker, which was built on the site of the old Fishponds Railway Station in 1993.
